Hi, my name is Guru! and today I'm going to tell you where I work and how it works. As I stood in front of a large wooded area I came up with an idea of building my fort there. My fort will have millions of minions that will live and work for me. My job is to cut down large number of trees in one specific area; that can range from any space like a backyard or football field called "Deforestation".

What does it look like?

-I ordered the minions to remove the forest area and to leave nothing behind! As the minions obeyed their boss rules they ran out to the land area and cleared all the trees in sight. Leaving a dried-up area with brutal tree branches and logs covering the whole forest area leaving fragile dead grass everywhere.

                The different types

-There are 3! different types of removing a forest area. The first type is Slash and burn, Guru showed the minions how to start a fire and burn everything down; and how to rip down the trees with tools.

-Next Guru explained how to do selective cutting. Which is an act of picking one kind of tree and cutting it down around other trees.

-Last there is clear cutting, which is clearing out all wooded areas leaving nothing behind except a clear land.

Some ways to stop it!

Even though this is Gurus job he may not know it but he’s harming the environment. The act of clearing out land use creates bad air to breath which causes an unhealthy environment. Instead of cutting down trees hug a tree and help plant more trees. This will show the beauty of nature and what’s it worth.

 -As Guru came to his senses he retired his job with the minions and joined a new job that helps the environment. Him and the minions now live in a healthy forest they created.
