 Choo Choo! Do you ever think how hard The polar express worked to get all those kids from around the world to get to see Santa? Have you ever wonder what really goes on in each of those kids families and not just one of the families? Well let me introduce you to Muhammad and Alexis.

Muhammad is from India and his family of 10 all lives in a tiny shack and they all have to share their toys and clothes with each other. Alexis is from California and she has a 5 bedroom house where all of her family members all have their own room and don’t have to share clothes. Muhammad and his siblings boarded the polar express to get away from the craziness at their home and to enjoy getting gifts from Santa.  

Have you ever thought the way Muhammad lives was considered overpopulation?  
Overpopulation is too many people for the earth to handle (1). It has become a growing problem for many 

years and can hurt us all in the next few years. Every year there is a count of how any people there are and what age they are. By this we keep track of how many resources we still have left. Many places like India do not have stable homes and they aren’t big like Alexis’ might be. Muhammad might not even have safe drinking water and a nice shower like many. Many nights for dinner he may not even have a lot to eat, sometimes if they are lucky they will have a piece of bread and maybe some type of fruit. 

Causes of overpopulation

Researchers think it became like this because of crimes in different cities. Researchers say the disasters the human beings are facing are a big problem because it is hurting us a lot (2). The more people we have the less water we will have left for the people in our families and the ones we care about. This also goes for the amount of food we have to feed everyone in our families. 

Where is the most overpopulated?

Their are many places in the world that are overpopulated. For example, cities in Europe and in Pakistan.They have also had many natural disasters like floods, earthquakes and climate change (3).

What will happen if we don’t stop it? 

If we don’t control this, we will continue to have more and more crazy things happening to our beautiful earth and we don’t want that to happen. Also The Polar Express will not be able to reach places like India and Europe to help those children.
